Your Instructor for the Job Finding Club:
Sandra Stanley has a proven reputation as an outstanding counselor with well over 18 years experience in the delivery of personal development and training programs, in both the public and private sectors. This includes offering, as a certified Job Finding Club Facilitator, the very first Job Finding Club in Salmon Arm some 15 years ago, as well many years experience as a Vocational Counselor and Group Facilitator.
Steps to Success...... Alexandra Kirchner has been involved in the Human Development field for the past 9 years. She graduated from Okanagan University College in 2001 with a Human Service Worker Certificate. She strongly believes that her experience in working with people in the Human Development Field has and will continue to be one of the greatest contributors to her continued evolution as a person. She believes that "we all start where we are at", and that when we can recognize that without a judgemental attitude, we allow ourselves to move forward on purpose. Alex enjoys spending time with her family, new challenges and anything to do with the great outdoors.
A group of explorations designed to assist in increasing self – awareness, esteem and personal effectiveness.
Self-Esteem: This one and a half day workshop explores what self-esteem means to you and assists with recognizing and developing action plans to achieving healthy self-esteem.
Assertive Communication: This one and half day workshop looks at what Assertive Communication is. We will explore the benefits of using Assertive Communication as a self-awareness and self-development tool.
Positive Conflict: This one day workshop uses exploration of a different approach on how conflict can be recognized and used to create positive results in our lives.
One on One: Sessions are available to participants wanting to explore topics privately. As well, participants may find it helpful to attend one on one sessions after participation in workshops as awareness uncovered may require further supported exploration.

Marianne Collins draws on over 15 years of experience as an educator and, most recently, as a life coach to help people in transition take the actions that will serve them in reaching their personal or career goals. With experience in change management and transformation processes, she assists people in accepting change, overcoming obstacles, and creating viable action plans. Having recently moved here from the coast with her family, Marianne believes the essential items to pack in any journey are purpose, curiousity, and a good sense of humour. "Beyond the Classifieds - Job Search Strategies" - This workshop is designed for individuals who are looking for proactive job search strategies. Topics covered include: the hidden job market, establishing SMART goals, focusing your search, overcoming procrastination.
"Interviewing Skills" - This interactive workshop offers practical advice on how to interview comfortably and effectively. Topics covered include: how to identify your strengths, how to speak about them with confidence, and how to address the needs of the potential employer.
"Computer Skills for Beginners" - For individuals who have little or no computer experience. Topics covered include: using the mouse, keyboard skills and shortcuts, using the start menu, desktop icons, saving files, retrieving files, basic internet use, setting up and using an online email account.
"Word Workshop for Resume Editing" - Gain basic knowledge of working in Word 2007 in order to write, edit, and enhance resumes and cover letters. Topics include: creating a new document, editing, formatting, document layout, saving, retrieving and renaming files.
"Clear Your Way to Get What You Want" - Learn how to not only create new goals and plans but also how to follow-through in order to reach new levels of success.
"Job Search Strategies for the Mature Worker" - Explore ways to shift the emphasis away from your age and towards your ability to make tangible contributions.
"Money Management" - Learn how planning your spending in advance can aleviate stress and put you on your way to a solid financial future.
